Canes: Trailing, smooth (mostly thornless), growing 6-8 ft tall, needing strong support (trellis/fence).
Sun & Soil: Prefers full sun and well-drained, slightly acidic soil.
Hardiness: Hardy in USDA Zones 5-10 (some sources say 6-10), requires winter protection below 10°F.
Maturity: First fruits usually appear in the second year, with a yield of 4-6 quarts per plant at maturity.
How to Grow & Harvest
Planting: Best planted dormant in fall or early spring.
Support: Train canes on a strong trellis or wires.
Pruning: Cut old, fruited canes to the ground after harvest; tie new canes to supports.
Harvest: Berries are ripe when they drop easily with a slight touch.
