Multi-trunked, round-headed tree. Large, bright green leaves. Spectacular display of purplish-pink flowers in spring. Fall color in colder climates. Reaches 20'-30' tall; and 25'-35'wide. Moderate growth rate at 12"-18"/year. Full sun to part shade.
